There are. The overselling of the personal accounts doesn't bother me as much as portraying them as the fix for the financial "crisis" when, in fact, they exacerbate the financial crisis and the solution to the financial crisis will be the glossed-over if even mentioned benefit cuts. If that's not lying, it's pretty darned close.

I do, too. That's beside the point, IMO.

OTOH it might be an attempt to put that idea in ignorant or gullible people's minds.

Given the fact that polls indicated that the majority of people thought Saddam was behind 9/11, it sure worked. It seems to be effective on SS, too.
