I think it is way too soon to try to guess what an Islamic democracy might look like, Brumar. We are both trying to figure it out, but too much is unknown. I do maybe disagree about the statement in your post that the Shiites don't want to dominate the Sunnis. I'm not sure that is true. There is a lot of bad blood between these two groups. Hopefully educated, urban moderates from all factions will try to achieve some sort of workable society, because the less sophisticated tribal people seem really ideological.
