Extended Systems Increases Revenue and Earnings Guidance for the Third Quarter of Fiscal 2005

BOISE, Idaho--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 8, 2005--Extended Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:XTNDE - News), a leading provider of mobile application solutions for the enterprise, said today it is raising its third fiscal quarter financial guidance following the closing of a significant prepaid licensing transaction for its mobile device solutions products.
The customer and size of the transaction were not disclosed, but the Company said it now expects net revenue for the third fiscal quarter of 2005 to range between $10.5 million and $11.5 million, compared with $8.3 million for the same quarter last year. The Company expects operating expenses, including cost of license fees and royalties and cost of services, to range between $8.6 million to $8.8 million for the third quarter, which would result in operating income ranging between $1.9 million and $2.7 million, and net income ranging between $0.11 and $0.16 per fully diluted share. This outlook assumes diluted outstanding shares of 15.7 million.

The Company expects to report financial results for the third quarter of fiscal 2005 ending March 31, 2005 during the third week of April 2005.
