I guess that I am more of an isolationist. Must have come from having our Victory Garden,chickens,grapes( red and purple ),apple trees,cherry trees (BING AT THAT ) asparagus...wild.. and all other goodies. Making our own soap, churning our own ice cream by hand and now I believe that American could produce enough for all of its citizens.

For example a nutritionist I go to was talking about the fish that is from Korea and how contaminated it is...

We do not know what is sprayed on vegetables from other countries.... Anyway you hit my meaning when you said this:

We shouldn't pay people not to grow goods we import and we should depend more on our own resources...

re: They try to keep the price up. Imports are not part of any such policy they are dependent on the actions of individuals and companies not government policy.

Overseas farmers are not subsidized? Give me a break.
