Tejek, looks like you were wrong about Sistani and the Shias seeking implementation of Sharia law. As I said in rebuttal to your post, I explained that making Islam the source of legislation was NOT the same thing as implemnting Sharia law. Turkey was the example I gave you that proves that Iraq was not heading down the path of Sharia. Anyway, here's an article from the BBC proving what I said: Huh? I didn't originate the comment....I was repeating what was said in the Newsweek article. But this comment IS my reaction.......I think Sistani is prevaricating. ted
