You are right. The time for someone to compete with Google is running out as they establish themselves on your desktop and as your shopping site. It will be like the Brave New World with MSFT v GOOG for supremacy. The imitators and "better than" players will have to go up exponentially. Firefox is gaining on IE very, very slowly only because MSFT got complacent and allowed its security issues to fall. I see they purchased another security company today. Point is for someone to stop these juggernauts they will need something unthought of - perhaps almost neural in scope.
