We both know that inflows will NOT match outflows by 2018. By 2042, the discrepancy will be very large. So much so that to bring outflows back into alignment with inflows, the SSA will have to reduce benefits to somewhere between 60% and 70% from the amount at the 2042 timeframe. Bankruptcy is when liabilities exceed assets. That will happen in 2042. Again, the only lie is the one you tell yourself. Luckily for you, your lies only impact people younger than yourself.
