It costs 17.5% VAT on every transaction in the UK. But they don't open the door to Chinese imports. You get a VAT bill for every order. It would kill the consumer economy in the US. Can you imagine how much everything would cost if we had a VAT? My $1200 Costco computer was more than twice that price in the UK. I waited till I got back. People are thinking with their reptilian brains - "I'm afraid..." of homosexual marriages, Muslims, liberals, Evolution, Intellectuals, and pretty much everything else that they are told to worry about. One can't reason with people acting out of fear. I had a squirrel running along side my bike one day. It couldn't reason its way out of its situation and instead made a "Right" turn into my spokes. Fortunately, it just got a headache and lived to run another day. I'm not sure Joe Sixpack and his family will get that chance.
