I liked Ascher's essay so much I added it to the header. All of blogdom are posting comments like this one.

American Future - EuroPundit's Nelson Ascher has written a superb analysis of the Left's machinations after the fall of the Berlin Wall:
......I can't remember reading a more insightful analysis than this one.

I'd say Gov Pawlenty will probably go for it. He was the leading candidate last time until Bush asked him personally to step aside in favor of Coleman.
