Steve, Too easy for the majority to respond in a poll to wish the minority who are rich to pay the bill....

There will always be someone richer than you.

"I've been such a fool, Vassili. Man will always be man. There is no new man. We worked so hard to create a society that was equal, where there'd be nothing to envy your neighbour. But there's always something to envy. A smile, a friendship, something you don't have and want to appropriate. In this world, even a Soviet one, there will always be rich and poor. Rich in gifts, poor in gifts. Rich in love, poor in love." - Enemy at the Gates

LOL. Yes, I'm torn on that issue too. I do believe the rich should bear a larger burden. So I believe in progressive taxation. However, like every other issue, your opinion depends on where you sit. If I was a multi-millionaire, I'm sure I'd be arguing that I had earned that money and it wasn't fair to punish me for other people's issues.

However, from where I sit, it seems that if the country has been good to you on the way up, then you owe it to the country to pay back some of that to help the less fortunate.
