NK claim nukes and break off the 6 party talks. Chris Dodd on Imus responds by saying its our fault because we should have had the bilateral talks they suggested. Appeasement and capitulation again for the Dems. Then I am reading the NYTimes about Condi and how the france were taken aback when she referred to the iranians as totalitarian or moving in that direction. IN return Condi was shocked that there was general acceptance in france that iran would have nukes in short order although they lead the euro effort to stop just that. This means they know they will fail. Its all then a charade.
Back to the totalitarian word back in college we used to argue about the distinctions between auth and tot and concluded there was middle ground, a sort of state pergutory between auth and tot, where Iran sort of exists these days. Maureen Dowd et al go after Condi on this point and side with the French. Dont insult the folks who bring nukes to our shores and repress their people but are not technically totalitarian or to be more exact in the above cases to the shores of europe from iran, and china and japan from NK. It is more their problem and in europes case appeasement. In Asia the japanese are now directly threatened and the chinese economic miracle is in jeapardy the moment the first nuke use is either threatened or actually used. mike
