Let's suppose that America pulls out of the Sunni triangle and it de facto becomes an independent state. The oil wealth is in the Shiite south and the Kurdish north.

Left to "stew" in their own insurgency - and not being the top dogs running the whole of Iraq - how long do you suppose that insurgency will last even if the average Sunni continues to sit unemployed in his 110 degree apartment without clean water and a chicken in the pot??
