"In Molly Ivins book, "Shrub" "

A great book. And I love Molly to death. Possibly beyond, but I don't want to violate parole...

But I digress.

I think that Smirk is pretty genuine(possibly the only thing about him that is genuine) in his commitment to bible-thumping. As someone who had totally lost control of his life, it probably looked like a good solution. Besides, it doesn't take a whole lot of intellectual involvement, which Dubya definitely is comfortable with.

Disclaimer: I know plenty of people who have a Christian orientation and are wonderful people to have in your life. Smirk types aren't included in the group. They are the ones who will quietly knife you in your sleep.

Molly Ivans and Anne Richards tear me up when they talk politics. They ought to take it on the road. :•)
