No, there are real formulas and benchmarks to determine financial health, for companies or countries. To say that because we are over-extended now, there will be no reaction if we become much more over-extended is the mindset that got us in this mess. We need to increase the funding for SS to counteract the perception that it may be under-funded. Then we need to reinstate the taxes that Bush cut, and cut federal spending. In other words, we need to get out house in order. John
