Oh, I agree that Kerry lost the election all by himself. He wasn't the strongest candidate the Democrats could have fielded and he had a long string of liabilities. I personally liked Wesley Clark, but there were others who could have done a better job. Dean, for example. he had his own baggage, but probably would have been a whole lot more entertaining... Regardless of what the issue is, and whether or not you are right in some objective sense isn't the issue. He wanted to know why he should protest. Dissent, like writing, isn't something you ask about or analyze, it is something you do because you have to. Because you believe. Otherwise, it is just a game or a way to meet girls. Or guys, if your tastes are different.
