I didn't know that some insurance doesn't cover birth control pills. Is that one of those red state/blue state dichotomies?

I agree with you about the drug ads on tv. New Zealand is the only country besides the U.S. where they are allowed to do that, and it is fairly new here. I think doctors should decide if patients need drugs, and which ones. I think it is really bad medical care for people to watch ads and want to take a drug. I know the long lists of side effects they have to disclose at the end would scare me off!! But more practically, the billions of dollars drug companies pay for those ads are passed directly along to the consumers, so we are all paying for a very failed advertising policy.

I wish there were healthy living ads on the major networks! I think all the drug ads lead people to believe they can eat anyway they want and drink and maybe even smoke and some drug will fix it all. Very bad public health policy!

I don't like the marketing either, those commercials tick me off. What if someone's kid is watching and a parent has to explain it all?

Also apparently there are freaks who take those pills for recreational purposes.

But in general I think most guys would ask their doctors for viagra only as a last resort, if it was really making them miserable. Impotence is something guys don't even like to think about, much less admit to.
