Reid===

Thx for the quick response. You pretty much confirmed what I thought.

My last post may have left the impression I was about to buy one of those systems. Not so. Never have. But I do try to stay open to things that might help results.

I've been in the market a good while and learned early on that there are lots of folks who want you to think you need them in order to do any good--and, accordingly, pay them a bunch. I'd guess that's at least as true with TA as with FA.

Which reminds me of Louis Rukeyser (sp?) saying a few years ago that the real key to the market was not fundamental analysis or technical analysis but psychoanalysis.....
there's a lot of truth to that, for a trader as well as the market as a whole...

I've had decent results depending largely on TA, using a hybrid of stochastics, price and volume, moving averages, support and resistance, and trading ranges.

I need to get better at candlesticks. Also need to get better at staying in winners a bit longer. I know we all leave $$$ on the table at times. But sometimes I think I've taken that to a whole new level....(see psychoanalysis above)

Thx again for the thread and being willing to help===

<< Terry and I (Terry please correct me if I am wrong since I am speaking for you) do not use artificial intelligence tools or other paid services in order to find good trades on a regular basis. >>

Generally true, but I do have a few sources of unique information/analyses I find helpful and I pay a small fee for. Not trading recommendations usually, but just hard-to-come by information that would otherwise take me too long to assemble regularly.

Reid is right, most of what I trade comes from things I come across somehow or scans and such on this board. I have always had a group of stocks I more or less follow the charts on, but here things have gotten very organized, simple, and efficient (thanks to Reid, of course). A kind of one-stop shop I guess you could say.
