3:49am 02/11/05 Smith Barney downgrades homebuilding stocks (BZH, KBH, PHM, TOL, RYL, HOV) By Aude Lagorce
LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Smith Barney downgraded six homebuilding stocks, including Beazer Homes (BZH) , KB Home (KBH) , Pulte Corp. (PHM) , Toll Brothers, Inc. (TOL) , the Ryland Group, Inc. (RYL) and Hovnanian Enterprises, Inc. (HOV) to "hold" from "buy". The broker told clients that while it continues to believe that the market grossly underestimates the earnings power and resiliency of the public homebuilders, we doubt that the recent run-up in the group will prove to be the transcendent moves that takes valuations in the low-to mid- teens. "Until mortgage rates rise meaningfully, we believe the group can test, but not meaningfully exceed, the high end of its recently established multiple range."

probably go higher then <ng> .. want these suckers to die

went short then long then short but stayed short too soon last week .. but fortunately only a pinkie's worth

still prob dumb to be farming here (low PEs) and maintenance of high RE val seems the key to this bogus econ .. lose RE and it's the end game for the US

they can't let that happen anytime soon as we've got no savings
