Laz, California was not always as anti-smoking as it has become. You didn't mention a time frame for when you had to go outside for a smoke. Me? I could smoke in the hospital in my office until 1979 (when Nurse Ratched arrived and took charge) and in the lounge and the radio room until 1984. True, our respective lines of work are very, very different in the demands they make on our thought processes.
