N. Korea rumors briefly weigh on Treasurys, U.S. dollar By Rachel Koning
CHICAGO (MarketWatch) -- Short-term Treasury prices dipped and yields moved higher briefly, following unfounded rumors that North Korean leader Kim Jong-il was ousted in a coup. A potential political change there was seen reducing demand for low-risk, short-term U.S. debt, a traditional 'safe haven' investment. The dollar also fell, as the Japanese yen gained on the leadership speculation. The dollar moved briefly from around 105.80 yen to near 105.50 just as the rumor was circulating through financial markets. The 2-year Treasury note was last 3/32 lower at 99 19/32, yielding 3.34 percent. Dollar-yen was quoted at 105.71 yen, down 0.1 percent from where it stood late Thursday.

How come there is never a rumor Shrub as been decapitated by a pissed off gi mom? Or, GSpan was kicked down the stairs by disgruntled retirees tired of making 2% on their money?

Gotta wonder who makes up these rumors

well maybe not
