i am talking about bond dealers as well--i mean "primary bond dealers", which is what Russ is also referring to, i believe. their net borrowings are the difference between the repo and reverse repo. by coincidence these net borrowings were almost the same as total equity margin debt in 2000, but are now more than four times as high as equity margin debt.
