You are trained in science so I assume you know that you can't determine causality without eliminating other variables. What are the other differences between the US population and the populations of the other developing countries aside from private vs. public health? If we look at similar populations (similar ethnic background, income level, eating and exercise habits) in both places what is the difference in life expectancy, infant mortality, potential years of life lost, healthcare spending, etc.?
