The thing that really amuses me about the tax cut debate is the dishonesty of the players and the media coverage. I note that the arguments for tax cuts are almost always framed around the alleged benefits these cuts are supposed to provide to the economy. Of course anybody with a half a brain knows that these cuts are designed to benefit favored constituents and supporters. That is the real bottom line -- not PR crap like "job creation." But the rules of the system dictate that such cuts be sold via by some high moral and/or economic purpose.
