profit is profit ... better than turning profit into loss
========
The March NASDAQ 100 index closed sharply higher on Friday
and above the 20-day moving average crossing at 1523.05. The
high-range close sets the stage for a steady to firmer
opening on Monday. Closes above Tuesday's high crossing at
1546.50 would renew the short covering rally off January's
low while opening the door for a possible test of the 50%
retracement level of January's decline crossing at 1564.21.
Closes below the reaction low crossing at 1484.50 would
renew this winter's decline while opening the door for a
possible test of the 75% retracement level of last year's
rally crossing at 1453.38 later this year.

The March S&P 500 index closed higher on Friday and spiked
above the 75% retracement level of January's decline
crossing at 1206.97. The high-range close sets the stage for
a steady to firmer opening on Monday. If March extends the
rally off last month's low, January's high crossing at
1221.20 is the next upside target. However, stochastics and
the RSI are overbought and are bearish hinting that a short-
term top might be in or is near. Closes below the 10-day
moving average crossing at 1195.44 would signal that the
corrective rally off January's low has come to an end.

The Dow closed higher on Friday extending this week's
breakout above the 75% retracement level of January's
decline crossing at 10,747. The high-range close sets the
stage for a steady to firmer opening on Monday. If the Dow
extends its short covering rally off January's low, this
winter's high crossing at 10,875 is the next upside target.
Stochastics and the RSI are overbought and have turned
neutral signaling that a short-term top might be in or is
near. Closes below the 10-day moving average crossing at
10,653 would signal that the short covering bounce off
January's low has likely come to an end.
