Hi cosmic,

re: "My family used to go to all sorts of movies together (whatever was playing at the local movie house). Usually it was innocuous."

That's exactly what we done. My parents loved movies and we would drive about 30 miles to town to catch a movie.. Whatever was playing. Usually fine..

But I remember these two different films, one about Rommel, "The Desert Fox" I think. As I remember, it opened with the Allies I think, breaking into a barracks of sleeping Germans, and going down the halls shooting them in their beds while asleep.. How horrific, I thought. I will never forget..

Another was a Korean war movie and it opened with a soldier ambushing and shooting a scout ahead of a North Korean or Chinese tank. As I remember, he had a hard time pulling the trigger. Terrible I thought to put these men in that situation. I'll never forget and so my values were forged..
