The world is far too precious and fragile to be in the hands of such unscrupulous manipulators.ELMAT: We have stood up to George Bush and we will continue do to so. For the most part I have always been optimistic about the future. When I look at my boys list, I am comforted in knowing the likes of L'll Kim would never be elected dog catcher if elections were in play in North Korea. ELMAT: Was it necessary to take any action against Lybia’s Muamma Ghadaffy? Or was it a new set of circumstances that allowed him to become good again?Unless nations closed themselves off from modern technology, the Internet, and mass communications, there is no chance that anyone can lead without the consent of those being led. ELMAT: No comments on this one. Recent elections in the United States, however, has shaken my faith and optimism for the future, but it has not completely broken my spirits. Even here, imo if we had more transparency, what happened could not happen again.ELMAT: When the going was good the political process didn’t have to be manipulated and it was shown as the paragon of everything freedom honesty, etc. But as soon as the going is getting tough, the ones on top start manipulating the system. Pretty soon the US will ressemble the other (5.8 billion people) places on earth. It is the next generation Arthur Miller's that have broken ranks. They are the apologists and the ennablers that tip the scales toward unenlightenment (darkness is too dramatic a word for the current situation). I hope it is just temporary and happenstance.ELMAT: This soul searching and introspection, has been made by us for ages! It is nothing new. We are the best prepared people to deal with the future. We have been thinking so hard about understanding the construction, that we have a good grasp on it. And we are starting to use it for our own advance. As for Jay and Maurice, they are two of the smartest people on the Internet, but their talents for the most part are wasted. They are flippant and not terribly serious. Maurice flirts with the dark side and ennables the intellectually challenged to at least cut and paste his rants and use it to justify things they could never justify on their own.ELMAT: Jay is above average in terms of smartness. MQ is a clever man by his potential can’t be achieved since his views are too narrow to consider all angles. I am trying to educate MQ on the angles that is beyond his narrowband view to no avail. He needs a constant diet of diverging perspectives to be able to see the light. Perhaps he’s a lost case and I should give up.MQ is much older than Jay. MQ has survived longer than Jay. We don’t know if Jay will be still standing by the time he reaches MQ’s age. These days, just as canaries are for coal miners, Maureen Dowd and Laura Flanders are my canaries. If they are shut down, it will signal for me that lights are going out.It is abrave new world. I know. But it is nothing that we out here have not survived. And even had some fun!
