Don't you think this general knowledge might affect the expectations of professors and fellow students?

They are twisting and wriggling on this study just like they did on "The Bell Curve." The results chime in directly with the overall problem of admitting ANY students into schools where the average SAT is significantly above the prospective students, regardless of color. We have seen this with athletic scholarships going back a century. The "dumb jock" who can't finish school is an old joke.

Probably, but law school grades are computed from a single exam at the end of the semester, and are almost universally blind-graded. The exam doesn't have a name attached to it - the grade is based on the work, not the person. More likely the student is faced, maybe for the first time, with a highly competitive environment that gives no points for minority status...
