"Utterly impossible" is a red herring. Murder isn't an accusation to be made lightly. Lightly tossing an allegation of deliberate murder into a public conversation in a serious venue and then immediately retracting it is a demonstration that the man in question was at best sensationalistic and at worst an airhead.

Well put, CB.

You mistake my reference, methinks. It looks like you think I'm condoning Eason's making such an accusation on the basis that it's not utterly impossible that the accusation is true. That was the furthest thing from my mind. That would be outrageous.

I'm already on record several times over indicting him for making gross accusations that he couldn't back up. I have seen no defense of him on this thread and I take it as a given that what he did is indefensible. I assumed that was as obvious to everyone else as it is to me.

What I was referencing was those who are responding from the perspective that it is utterly impossible that they are true. It is not utterly impossible. That was my point and my only point. What started this was my contradicting the strong assertion that there is absolutely nothing to Eason's accusation. We don't and can't know that. And I will restate that it is not utterly impossible that there is something there. I don't think that the absolutist position is remotely reasonable. That absolutist positon is what I was challenging.
