Your observations explain why many economists, primarily Austrian, call Monetarism by it's more accurate name, Monetary Socialism.

fee.org

Monetarism provides a system where credit and money are created in as much abundance as the market demands without regard to supply, as the supply is infinite.

Even when inflation is actually zero, the Monetarist central bank spends into existence an amount of money equal to the growth in the economy. This heavy tax is imposed on all savers, yet it ostensibly mystifies many why the savings rate is essentially zero.

Many aspects of our economy confuse many simply because the essential nature of Monetarism is hidden by design behind misleading names and actual secrecy. People blame these problems on "the government" but this is mistaken. The problem lies in the very foundation of our Monetarist economy.
