I'll tell you when the U.S. crossed the line from being essentially good to bad is when we bombed the hell out of Iraq's water supply infrastructure during the 1991 Gulf War. That was an act of pure evil that deliberately caused the suffering and death of 100,000s of innocent Iraqi civillians. A calculated move to ensure that the Iraqi people wouldn't recover from the war.
