I believe that "Drop D" is a different way of tuning the guitar. The sixth string is tuned down from an E note to a D note. Other strings are also sometimes tuned to a D, an A, or a F# note, so that when you strum the open strings a D Major chord sounds.

Best wishes,

I2

The low E string gets tuned the same as the D string. A, D, G, B and high E strings remain the same. Try it, you'll like it--lol!

Richie Havens was famous for using Drop-D tuning.

>>>You gotta be a liberal. :•)<<<

Republicans will give us an oil change;
Democrats a tune-up;
Libertarians will call for free air in the tires at market rates;
--what's really needed is a fundmental overhaul of the engine!

Essentially, I'm left of liberal, but conscientious and nonviolent. I say right-on to the hoola-hoop, the pet rock and all; but damn the 'bastards' who deprive folks of self-determination, equal opportunity, healthcare, shelter and food--and especially those who've raped resources from third world nations in alliance with dictatorships, all in the name of so-called freedom!

Whoops! I forgot, this is a guitar thread! Back to Drop-D Tuning--lol!
