>><<The situation will be stabilized and will cool down in Gaza and the West Bank" to the degree that Mr. Sharon "helps us to release the prisoners," Mr. Abbas said. The Palestinian Authority says Israel holds nearly 8,000 Palestinians, but the Israeli government has had fierce debates about whether to release Palestinians held for attacks against Israelis, with Mr. Sharon expressing public understanding of Mr. Abbas's need to show Palestinians quick benefits from the new quiet.>>>

Conditions, always conditions. Turn loose 8000 of these suicidal, angry, Jew haters, and how long before the first one crosses the line with a bomb to set things back again.?
One day? One week?

Israels condition for their release should be that they become prisoners of the Palestinians until they prove themselves loyal to the government in charge and willing to maintain the cease -fire.

ounds like he is looking for a multi-billion payout from us. We are paying Israel and Egypt two billion a year, he wants the same

Except, being Palestinian, he wants all the money up front on the basis of a few promises, without any responsibility for their fulfillment. Suicide bombing? What suicide bombing? The Israelis just broke the cease-fire by responding!
