I just watched Ray with Jamie Fox, he should win the Academy Award for his portrayal of Ray Charles, he is brilliant.
I saw Aviator when it first came out I thought it was a really worthy movie and DeCaprio was really good as Howard Hughes but not as good as Fox as Ray........
both movies are period pieces especially Aviator and as such neither is a box office smash...too bad.

save your money on "Shall we dance"........

"Collateral" Tom Cruise, Jamie Fox....Worthy...

Watching "DeLovely" tonight...

Manchurian Candidate, Denzel Washington...Worthy...

regards

Your Clint Eastwood story trumps mine. On the other hand, I now know the woman that he constantly refers to in interviews as "the missed opportunity of my life." :)

When "Cold Mountain" was first published, there were rumors that Clint was negotiating to purchase the film rights. It is interesting to think about how his interpretation of the book would have differed from that of Anthony Minghella.

Until I read the New York Times article, I had not been aware of the fact that he was working on "Flags of our Fathers." Given the subject matter, the combination of Spielberg and Eastwood could produce something very special. I have a copy of the book, though I have not yet read it.

Clint probably thought you looked just like Sondra Locke, only prettier.

I had an even closer encounter with Clint Eastwood in 1973. I lived and skied in Aspen. One wasn't surprised to see famous people now and again.......many had second homes in Aspen. I was young and pretty. One day when I stopped into the midway lodge at Aspen Highlands for lunch after a day of heavy skiing Clint Eastwood was ahead of me in line. I didn't notice him until I started looking around. As I panned the lodge, there he was staring right at me. I looked him in the eyes and he winked at me. I was so shy that I immediately looked away. But I couldn't help looking back.........my God, Clint Eastwood just winked at me........and he was gone.

Thank goodness Warner allows him artistic license. I can't wait to see "Flags of our Fathers." The idea of he and Spielberg making a movie together is incredible.
