There wouldn't be a World War, because Russia knew how weak they were. They knew our Tech and men were MUCH better.

RE: "Do YOU feel as I do that there would be a world war now, because of this business in Iraq, if Russia was still a world power?"

What makes you think Russia is no longer a world power?

Russia still has soldiers, nukes, rocket ships, missiles, satellites, airplanes and submarines. Russia also has enough oil to meet their own energy needs, with plenty left over to sell on the open market.

When exactly did Russia cease to be a world power? When the Western media said so?

I can recall news stories from the 70s along the lines of, "The US is winning the Cold War because we have enough nukes to destroy the world 8 times, where Russia only has enough to destroy the world 7 times."

Now perhaps I'm missing something, but it seems to me that having enough nukes to blow up the world even once would be more than adequate to be considered a world power.

Considering Russia was the source of at least two of the most urgent and detailed intelligence warnings of the impending attacks of 9/11, is it reasonable to believe they have less information on the attacks than those of us doing online research?

At any time in the months leading up to the invasion of Iraq, Russia could have cut Bush off at the knees simply by blowing his cover on 9/11. The same could be said of France and Germany. The bluff and bluster in UN councils can hardly be viewed as something other than showmanship to baffle the unwashed masses.
