I wonder how the rest of Asia is? Similar?

Thailand is not as explosive as China, however Bangkok is HUGE!! I just can’t get over how fantastic the infrastructure is. Roads, planes, trains, ferries, buses, they all work well and are easily afforded by all. (It is so much easier to travel throughout Asia than within Canada!)I am sorry to say but so is the Health Care better. (For those with money). However it all comes as a terrible price. In Thailand the poor including shopkeepers work from dawn till after dusk. In Hong Kong average workweek is 55 hours!

The working conditions in China are equally difficult. Living standards are improving rapidly from what i can see although I haven’t visited the country yet. The Chinese farm population that was sleeping on the streets in 95 are integrated city dwellers today, living mostly in new apartments.

My sense is I don't think the wheels will come off the Chinese miracle, although I have ZERO data. I am only going off a hunch and a "feel". (The tone of the bankers and professionals belays no panic or fear at all... only optimism.)

They are Proud! They all want a house and a car!
