The dateline on the Trippi piece is January 2000 -- shortly before the tech wreck. My guess is that he had his ass handed to him on a platter, but there's more to the story than that.

Thinking you can make 1000% in 3 years is totally irrational. It's been known to happen, but only by blind chance. No rational person would have those expectations.

It's like saying, "I only buy lottery tickets that I know will hit the jackpot." Only a crazy man or a fool (or both) would think this.

So, what does this tell us about our man Trippi? And, by extension, what does it tell us about the men who've hired him and relied on his advice?
