Sorry, I missed the fact that you were responding to Powerline's original post, where he does say "systematically murdering"...which leads to its own question of, is it an embellishment? I think it is if you argue that Jordan didn't say "systematic murder", so there was nothing to be offended at, my first interpretation.

But let's look at the history. How many times did Eason Jordan need to say "deliberate targeting" before "systematic murdering" became not an embellishment, but a reasonable interpretation of his remarks? True, we don't think he said "systematic" at Davos (we'd know if he released the tape, wouldn't we? Eason was on the damn board of the WEF, he could have gotten it released easily), he just said journalists had been deliberately targeted by both sides. But it wasn't the first time he made the charge, despite the efforts of Gergen et al to defend the 'slip of the tongue'.

To me, it's staringly obvious that Eason Jordan believes that the US and Israel have been deliberately shooting CNN journalists. All the proof he needs is the fact that journalists have been shot. It's human nature to believe that whoever harms you, does so deliberately. But it's not the behavior of a professional journalist, either to jump to conclusions without investigation, or to spread rumors without evidence.
