Yes the Cascades....at least on the western slopes......are heavily forested. But mankind did come along and clear swaths through those forests and erect people lifts for the enjoyment of humans that like to ski. Mankind has done that to every mountain range were large populations of humans reside and snow regularly falls each winter. The amount of trees that have been cleared is no where near the amount of trees that have been harvested for homes or other things that are useful to mankind. You won't find any clearing of forests on the Olympic Peninsula, which boasts high mountains and a nearly untouched wilderness.

There are lots of pictures on several websites if you ever find the time to google. You really must visit some day.
