Only if you CUT an even more regressive tax by at least the same amount....

FACT: the US economy has become *significantly* less sensitive to pricing changes in petroleum since the 1970s, because of advances in technology that have greatly increased the over-all energy efficiency of our economy... decreasing the energy inputs that are required for a given unit of GNP increase.
