It is easy to slip into the mode of thinking of the liberal outlook on the Soviet Union as being tied to sympathy and agreement with them. How far it went, we will never know. They certainly spoke the same 'progressive" language, and many were used by Soviet agents. I will post things like that interview when I think it is interesting, but I would hate to see us "John Birch" the situation back then.
