Intel's need for NAND based flash memory to replace NOR suggests that Intel may be willing to put money into SanDisk to help develop additional NAND capacity. Not necessarily a merger, but more probably an agreement where Intel buys specially issued preferred shares from SNDK. Just a guess on my part, but it's obvious Intel has to do something to avoid relying on microprocessors and/or WiFi/WiMax solutions.
