rkral, RE: Not when all services on the cable system die. IOW, the most frequent outage is *on* the cable system ... while my residence still has AC power.

Now I don't have VOIP over cable, so maybe that behaves better ... but I am skeptical.


Interesting.

In the entire time I've had VoIP over cable, my phone service hasn't gone down except for the one time when my entire area lost power for a week. Even then, cable service was up and running two days before the power was.
