Theoretically, I agree. Talking about what someone should have done doesn't really solve the problem, though.

You see, we are not obligated to solve the problems people cause themselves by their own lack of prudence.

It's easy to say people shouldn't behave like babies. The problem is what to do with all those destitute babies who didn't save for their retirement.

We should let them enjoy the consequences of their own choices, of course. In other words, let them live like adults. As we allow them to do this, they will live responsibly or die. Either way, the problem will be solved. We have no obligation to force people to live sensibly, in correspondence to our idea of comfort and survival.

Isn't this just common sense? I sincerely can't see how anyone can think otherwise.
