Orc:

solved no freedom issues. Currently there are little or no services in Iraq

These are straight from Democrat talking points. See below for rebuttal to second point. The first is false on the face and requires no rebuttal.

A better opportunity for freeing the Iraqi people was tossed away when the Shia were encouraged to rise up against Saddam, and then we did not support the uprising resulting in a slaughter of many people and another 12 years of Saddam. All it would have taken is some air support. Let Iraqis free themselves.

The best revolution for freedom comes from within...not from outside

The issue was so much more complex than you understand. It would take several thousand words to do it justice. Here is a highly condensed version.
1) Iraq invaded Kuwait.
2) Arab neighbors agreed to fund military reaction.
3) Coalition (oops US and the coerced) poised military on the border.
4) Iraq looted Kuwait, raping, murdering, and planting fake identities.
5) Coalition invaded, routing Iraqis from Kuwait.
6) Coalition followed Iraqis into Iraq.
7) Arabs threatened to withdraw committed funding if coalition removed Saddam from power.
8) Coalition stopped advance.
9) PResident Bush 41 and others encouraged Shiite revolt.
A) Chemical Ali gamed US by using helicopters to deploy chemical WMDs.
B) With nascent revolution stopped, Saddam won that round.

You are right that we failed our moral test to support freedom loving people after Gulf War I. That wrong has been righted.

Good News from Iraq:
Not mine but kind of lays it out there.

OF COURSE WE DIDN'T KNOW!
WHY DIDN'T WE KNOW?
BECAUSE OUR MEDIA WOULDN'T TELL US!
Because the media and Democratic Party would rather see the world blow up than lose their power.
Instead of shouting these accomplishments from every rooftop, they would rather show photos of what a few perverted malcontent soldiers have done in prisons in many cases never disclosing the circumstances surrounding the events.
Instead of showing our love for our country, we get photos of flag burning incidents at Abu Ghraib and people throwing snowballs at presidential motorcades.
The lack of accentuating the positive in Iraq serves only one purpose. It undermines the worlds perception of the United States and our soldiers.
I AM ASHAMED OF MY FELLOW AMERICANS WHO WOULD RATHER SEE TERRORISM SUCCEED THAN A REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT.
