twmoore > I believe that Bush was told that something big was going to happen, but he wasn't told exactly what.

Sure. I can't accept he was the "mastermind". In fact, I don't believe there was any reason that he needed to have been told very much at all.

> There is a great picture of him with a dumbfounded look on his face when he was told about America being under attack in the movie Farenheit 9/11

He could even have thought that "they" were coming to kill him.

I think Ray put the whole Presidential Daily Briefing of August, 2001, warning of imminent terrorist attacks by Bin Laden into perspective. It was more of a information update for the Prez than a warning. It let the Prez know how the "big plans" for saving his Presidency and unleashing the military were coming along.

I don't agree with everything that is said on this thread, but that makes a lot of sense. How the Prez could just sit there with that stupid look on his face while the country was under attack is truly mind boggling. And, for some strange reason, people actually view him as a strong leader? On his big day, he sat there and did absolutely nothing. DC was not defended from attack. He was a pathetic Commander In Chief on that fateful day. But, it allowed him to unleash the military and now the American sheeple love him as a military leader.
