Yes a route surviving is not automatically a good thing any more than all the industries built on horse driven transport surviving to modern times on government subsidies would have been a good thing.

Another brilliant post........the rest of the world recognizes the benefits of a good train system; Bush doesn't. In America, the red voters don't like them so we are scrapping them. This place is becoming more and more like a communist, third world country. Each year, we go backwards by two.
