A lot of those news stories or press releases identify you as a "Harvard Professor" or an "instructor in surgery" and as a faculty member at the Harvard Medical School. These appear not to be correct. Your knowledge of virology may be extensive and your opinions about avian flu may be correct, but your reputation cannot benefit from misleading or exaggerated claims. The designation "researcher" is not disgraceful and might describe more exactly whatever it was you did at Harvard, MGH, and the Shriners' Burn Center.

UN fears bird flu may spread out of Asia unless affected countries, supported by other nations and global agencies, increase spending to fight the disease. The call from the UN comes after the World Health Organization last month said the situation may resemble that leading to a 1918 influenza pandemic that is estimated to have killed 40M people.

What kind of spending is required?
