Hi Mind,

I don't know how the measurement tools work, but if you are checking it at a device behind the wireless access point, and you are running an 80211.b unit, depending on distance you might get at best half the advertised throughput. A good G unit will improve on that quite a bit. I'm pretty happy with running a Linksys WRT54G router for the past 1 1/2 years, they have a new one (WRT54GX), which they claim gives you 54G speeds over a greater range. I've read the pre-spec Belkin 80211.n router with triple antennas has absolutely fabulous range also. As for Time Warner, it's funny, the dividing line here seems to be the Hudson River, as friends on the west side of the Hudson get Roadrunner, and several have had many more problems with it. Optimum Online is great, except for the price.

Best regards,
John
