Ah ok. I see where our misunderstanding lies. Mainly, I'm concerned with the Sunnis because it seems that the terrorists largely arise from the Sunnis. The Shias have historically been more peaceful. Look at Osama and the Wahabis. They are Sunni. Look at Syria...Sunni. Look at the insurgency in Iraq...Sunni.

Yes, as a minority, they have been more peaceful.......much of that results from being oppressed. Oppressed people often turn to religion as an escape from their oppression.

Look at Iran. It is dominated by Shias who want a real Democracy. They are held down by a few crazy mullahs at the top. Look at the Iraqi majority Shias, who for the most part have been cooperating with the Americans to secure their own democracy.

There are Iranians who fervently believe in the mullahs. It was they who overthrew the Shah and swept the mullahs into power back in 1979. Did you think all of Iran is clamoring for democracy? Its mostly the leftie students and women.

So as far as the source of terrorism is concerned, I'm more worried about Sunnis taking power.

I guess........but really what does it matter........the Shia are only ten percent of Islam. If its true as you say that its the Sunnis who are the terrorist, the Shias in power in Iraq will make little difference. The rest of the ME is solidly Sunni except for Persian Iran.

But Hizbollah is Shiite, and they're probably the most dangerous Islamic terrorist group, at least according to our State Department.
