My second daughter was so compulsive about reading those rags that I was sure it was all a waste. Now she is in high school, and has a new passion ... historical fiction of the renaissance period. She also has learned to love history, so she researches the factual basis of the details in these novels. Her current career goal is writer and illustrator of children's books. She also loves antiquing and poking around in thrift stores ... she is totally fun to hang with. It seems that if you love something and put your best efforts into it, you almost always find benefits somewhere down the road.
